The food and customer service were on point! Sure, one of the chicken drums came out a bit undercooked, but it didn’t ruin the vibe at all. Plus, the prices are super affordable! We’ll definitely be back for more!
Came here for the first time today and everything was great!!! The food was delicious., my mom and I couldn'tbelieve we ate the whole plate in one sitting... never had sweet potato cornbread before and now I think I prefer it over the traditional cornbread. My husband and I are new to the area. We wanted some down home good cooking , this place came up on google and we were about 7 min away. The cook / owner was very nice talked to us and gave us a little of her business history. Service was attentive and accommodating. I ordered a Big Back special lol ( that’s what I call it)! My only complaint is, I wish they had home fries and toast to go with my fish and grits lol but I’ll definitely get them the next time. The place was small but very clean and comfortable. We will be back again. I would recommend this spot if you’re looking for a good inexpensive meal.
This was my second time getting food from Lula Mae’s. It was so good I just had to write a review! 1. I love the welcoming, home-like environment when you walk through the door. I didn’t feel like a customer…more like I was stopping at my aunt’s house to get a plate. 2. Great, friendly service. This is rare these days. 3. My fried fish was amazing…everything was flavorful. I wish I had ordered 2 dinners for myself! 4. My husband enjoyed all his food and even ate the pinto beans. This man doesn’t even like beans. He rated his food a 10/10, which is a first for him! I am sure we will be back sooner rather than later!
This place feels like home. A simple spot with two ladies cooking and serving with so much heart. The atmosphere has that hometown feel, and their kindness makes you feel welcome right away. The pork chop was so good I couldn’t even wait for it to cool before digging in 😅. The homemade pancakes were just as delicious. A hidden gem!
We stumbled upon this place looking for a local bfast rather than a chain. Glad we found it. Really basic diner that seems to focus mainly on takeout but there are a few tables. Five stars for atmosphere isnt for the looks of the interior. It's for how we felt inside. We dined in and enjoyed the banter between the regulars and the staff. I gotta assume one of the ladies was the owner, but both greeted us pleasantly and both kept us up to date on how our meals were coming in case we were becoming impatient. (We weren't.) Customers were friendly too. My wife said her shrimp & grits were perfect. I had the fried swai and made a fish n grits on toast sandwich with part of it. All in all a different but nice vibe and a good departure from the Keke's, First Watch, etc rut.
My husband and I stopped at Lula Mae’s for breakfast and had such a wonderful experience. The ladies there truly hooked us up with a delicious meal—chicken and waffles and a French toast platter, all made exactly to our liking. They paid attention to every detail, even asking how soft we wanted the waffle, which made it feel so personal and thoughtful. Prices were unbeatable and turnaround was quick. We tore that food up! Everything was incredible, wholesome and homemade. The service was just as great and it left us feeling so happy and taken care of. We’re already excited to come back and try lunch soon. Thank you for such a warm, joyful experience!
I genuinely feel like I found a new little spot. The breakfast was so good and the service was personable, welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be returning for the chicken & waffles, shrimp & grits. We are looking forward to trying lunch next! Recommended if you want that home cooked with love kind of meal. We only remembers to take pics on the last bites. Try them out !
Best fried fish with the most flavorful breading! Grits and hot sauce so delicious you’ll eat the last bite even though you know you’re full because it’s just that good! Everything is prepared fresh and the serving size for the price is phenomenal. The owner and the chef are both so kind and welcoming! Cannot recommend enough!
I went for some shrimp n grits and left with way more. The grits were good, simple old fashion nothing crazy. The shrimp was plump, juicy and the seasoning was out of this world. Mixing the shrimp sauce with the grits really put it all together. The serving size was graciously large. I’m used to paying $25-$30 for a plate elsewhere. It was $11. Then I heard they have dinner and on the dinner menu was greens, I’m a sucker for greens. I asked for a small side an hot damn they were better than anyplace I have gone to anywhere in central Florida. Hot, fresh, slow cooked, savory, tender not mushy, well seasoned deliciousness. I asked if I could take a large to go box full because they were that damn good. Thank you for my new obsession.
